6/12/2023 0 Comments Themes for keynote 09Smart design suggestions can help you create more visually appealing slides if you aren’t working from a rigid template.īecause PowerPoint is so complicated, it can be problematic for some users.Advanced functions provide a lot of control for experience PowerPoint users that can control almost any aspect of the design.Data and chart integration for building quick graphics works exceptionally well.Notes function converts slides to handouts that look and work great.Other Microsoft elements from Word and Excel integrate seamlessly so you can add documents or spreadsheets to slides.Editing is easy and the interface and slides work using drag and drop. There are thousands of themes and templates to choose from, as default options and as add-ons.Most people have used PowerPoint of another Microsoft product and understand basic usage.(This might actually be a pro or con, depending on your experience with the software.) PowerPoint is a powerful piece of presentation software and many people don’t even use it to the full potential. Whereas Keynote works well on mobile devices, many functions of PowerPoint are more limited when creating presentations away from your desktop. While this software was originally designed for PC as part of the Microsoft Office Suite (now called 365), it works on PC or Apple devices. If you’ve been using PowerPoint for a long time and are already comfortable with it, chances are that a switch might not be for you. Keynote, one of the biggest considerations is ease of use. When it comes to comparing PowerPoint vs. PowerPoint is probably the most well-known presentation software. It’s relatively easy to use, comes installed with your OS (so there’s no software to buy) and provides a viable option for creating great presentations. If you are a Mac user and want to create presentations that don’t “look like PowerPoints,” then Keynote is for you. There is a learning curve if you are coming from other software.Does not support some 3D effects and shadows from PowerPoint so beware if you bring slides over. Not as highly adopted as other programs. While Keynote is a powerful tool, the biggest problem is that it is only for Mac and iOS devices. The design looks less like a standard slide deck, with a more polished overall aesthetic. There are plenty of extra templates that you can download and add if you don’t like one of the included designs.Animation, transition and transparency effects are polished and don’t have that silly look and feel often associated with presentations. ![]() Great integration across devices – go from your desktop to phone to tablet and keep working on the same presentation.Made for different types of multimedia such as images, sounds, video and other file types.Basic setup helps you align and position elements for a sleek overall design.Plenty of high-design theme options to choose from.So user-friendly that someone who hasn’t built slides before can use it.PowerPoint is similar, it’s in some of the slide creation details that the software really differs.

6/12/2023 0 Comments Bimini island racer![]() It is among the rarest snakes in the world. However, in the last 20 years, conservation efforts have boosted numbers from an estimated 50 to over 1,100 individuals by eradicating non-native predators and reintroducing the snake to other Antiguan islands in its original range. In addition to Great Bird Island, the Antiguan racer has successfully recolonised the nearby Rabbit Island, Green Island, and York Island. The Antiguan racer is a snake that belongs to the family Dipsadinae, which includes about half of the world's known snake species. It belongs to the genus Alsophis, which contains several species of West Indian racers. Many West Indian racers are threatened or extinct. The adult racer is typically about 1 m long, with females being larger than the males. Young adult males are usually dark brown with light creamy markings, while young females are silvery-gray with pale brown patches and markings. Females also have larger heads than the males. However, older individuals of both sexes can be highly variable in colour hue and pattern, and are frequently heavily speckled or blotched in a range of hues, including white, taupe, reddish brown, brown, and black. The Antiguan racer originally inhabited Antigua and Barbuda and probably all of the islands on the Antigua Bank. The island is extremely small at only 8.4 hectares.īy 1995, the species was found only on Great Bird Island, a small island 2.5 km off of the northeast coast of Antigua. It prefers to live in shady woodlands with dense undergrowth, although it is also found on sandy beaches and rocky outcrops. The Antiguan racer is harmless to humans and has a gentle temperament. It is diurnal, being active from dawn to dusk. The Antiguan racer appears to have poor resistance to common snake mites, which are not naturally found in Antigua, which has ended some attempts at captive breeding. The racer primarily eats a diet of lizards, including the local Antiguan ground lizard. While the species sometimes hunts for its food, it is typically an ambush predator, waiting for prey with most of its body buried beneath leaves. In the centuries before the Europeans arrived in Antigua, the Antiguan racers were numerous and widespread. The thick forest that covered the islands teemed with lizards, the snakes' favored prey, and the racer had no natural predators to threaten it. ![]() In the late 15th century, European settlers began to colonize and develop Antigua and Barbuda for huge plantations of sugarcane. The ships that brought slaves to the island (and those that also or instead carried away rum or other tropical products) also brought rats. Feasting on the sugarcane and, among other things, the eggs of the Antiguan racer, the rat population rocketed. The plantation owners, desperate to rid themselves of the rats, introduced Asian mongooses to kill the rats. However, they failed to realize that black rats ( Rattus rattus) are mainly nocturnal, while the mongooses prefer to hunt during the day. The mongooses preyed heavily on the native ground-nesting birds, frogs, lizards, and Antiguan racers. Within 60 years, the snake had vanished completely from Antigua and most of its offshore islands, and many believed that it had become extinct. However, a few Antiguan racers survived on a tiny mongoose-free island known as Great Bird Island. A 3-month survey by conservation biologists from Fauna & Flora International found only 50 individuals alive in 1995. Ĭonservation work quickly got under way with the eradication of rats, which threatened the racers on Great Bird Island. These are typically remote northern areas. In 1996, five adult racers were collected and sent to the Jersey Zoo for the first attempt at captive breeding. It manages the database and the mapping between the database and the objects. Hibernate not only takes care of the mapping from Java classes to database tables (and from Java data types to SQL data types), but also provides data query and retrieval facilities and can significantly reduce development time otherwise, spent with manual data handling in SQL and JDBC. Hibernate is in my opinion the most popular and most complete open source object/relational mapping solution for Java environments. An ORM allows you to load your objects just as easily: A good ORM will feature a query language too. This will automatically generate all the SQL needed to store the object. With a good ORM, you can take the plain Java objects you use in the application and tell the ORM to persist them. With a good ORM, you have to define the way you map your classes to tables once which property maps to which column, which class to which table, and so forth. So, what can an ORM do for you? A ORM basically intends to takes most of that burden of your shoulder. The term object/relational mapping (ORM) refers to the technique of mapping a data representation from an object model to a relational data model with a SQL-based schema. By using ORM, we can make the application portable to all databases. If we also take into consideration the inevitable change of requirements, we’re in serious trouble: The data storage structure must be kept in sync with the source code. A object-relational mapper (ORM) will help you bridge that gap. As soon as you want to make objects persistent using a relational database you will notice: There is a rift between these two paradigms, the so-called object-relational gap. The object-orientated paradigm however deals with objects, their atributes and associations to each other. The relational model deals with relations, tuples, and sets-it is very mathematical by nature. If you are working with object-orientated programming and relational databases, you will surely have noticed that these are two different paradigms. So, we go for Object-relational mapping (O/R mapping) which is a common requirement of many software development projects. Thus, the activities involved in persisting data are tedious and error-prone. As myself have experienced and most of you Java Programmers have seen, the object-relational gap quickly becomes very wide if you have large object models. This may be easy for a small value object, but for an object with many properties, you may face many difficulties. Typically, in an enterprise application, if you are passing objects around and sometimes reach the point where you want to persist them, you will open a JDBC connection, create an SQL statement and copy all your property values over to the PreparedStatement or into the SQL string you are building. ![]() Understanding the Hibernate Object/Relational Mapping Solution IntroductionĪs you all know, in today’s enterprise environments working with object-oriented software and a relational database can be cumbersome and time consuming. 6/12/2023 0 Comments Garrison mn![]() LIFT STATION #5, West Side Of Intersectionof Golf Circle & Baffle Bend Rd ( Lat: 46.232556 Lon: -93.801583), Type: Pole, Structure height: 7 m, Call Sign: WQNH332, Assigned Frequencies: 154.478 MHz, Grant Date:, Expiration Date:, Certifier: John Schley, Registrant: Business Radio Licensing, 30251 Golden Lantern, Suite E # 501, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677, Phone: (949) 384-8510, Fax: (949) 348-8514, Email:. ![]() Major Disasters (Presidential) Declared: 7 Emergencies Declared: 2 Causes of natural disasters: Floods: 7, Storms: 3, Drought: 1, Fire: 1, Hurricane: 1, Tornado: 1, Wind: 1, Other: 1 (Note: some incidents may be assigned to more than one category). Boa constrictors have good vision, even into the ultraviolet spectrum. They are nocturnal however they may bask during the day especially when night-time temperatures are low. Up to 60 young are born, about 30-40 cm at birth. Fertilized ova are retained in the female's body for incubation. When ready to mate, the male inserts one of his two hemipenes into the female's cloaca. He uses them to stimulate the female by scratching her body, especially around the cloaca. The male's spurs are longer than the female's. Both the male and female have a pair of spurs, one on either side of the cloaca. Boas are considered to be primitive snakes. Males are polygynous, mating with more than one female. This places a great physical demand on females and a period of recovery is needed after the birthing process to restore fat reserves. Boa constrictors are ovoviviparous embryos develop within their mothers' bodies. ![]() Females do not necessarily reproduce annually. ![]() During this period the female emits a scent from her cloaca. This generally takes place in the dry season. Seasonal changes trigger breeding behaviour. Sexual dimorphism (difference between males and females) includes females generally being larger in body length and girth, whereas males generally have longer tails (containing the hemipenes) and longer cloacal spurs (vestigal hind legs). This new world snake has an average length of two to three metres while the largest ever recorded was 5.5 m. Sharp, long teeth are found on both the upper and lower jaws and curve backward towards the throat. Boas have two functional lungs, the right much larger than the left, to match their elongated body shape. However, there are many variations on appearance. ![]() Third, this dark triangle is continued behind the eye, where it slants downward towards the jaw. They may have smaller dark spots over the entire body. Along the sides, there are rhomboid, dark marks. Silicon may cause chronic respiratory effects. Silicon dust has little adverse affect on lungs and does not appear to produce significant organic disease or toxic effects when exposures are kept beneath exposure limits. However, slight pulmonary lesions have been reported in laboratory animals from intratracheal injections of silicon dust. Silicon is non-toxic as the element and in all its natural forms, nameli silica and silicates, which are the most abundant.Įlemental silicon is an inert material, which appears to lack the property of causing fibrosis in lung tissue. Silicon concentrates in no particular organ of the body but is found mainly in in connective tissues and skin. At the other extreme there are forms of silica so rare that they are desirable for this reason alone: gemstone opal, agate and rhinestone. Other mined silicates are feldspars, nephenile, olivine, vermiculite, perlite, kaolinite, etc. Sand is used as source of the silicon produced commercially. It constitutes 27,72% of the solid Earth’s crust, while the oxygen constitutes 46,6%, and the next element after silicon, aluminium, is found in a 8,13%. The silicon is much more abundant than any other element, apart from the oxygen. Silicon is found in many dioxide forms and in uncountable variations from the natural silicates. Moreover, many useful organosilicic by-products. Appart from metallic silicides, which are used in big quantities in metallurgy, it forms important commonly used compounds with hydrogen, carbon, halogens, nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur. It is known that silicon forms compounds with 64 out of the 96 stable elements and possibly form silicides with other 18 elements. A colloidal dispersion of silicon in water is used as a coating agent and as ingredient for certain enamels. Melted quartz sands are transformed in silicon glasses which are used in laboratories and chemical plants, as well as in electric insulators. Big silicon crystals are used for piezoelectric glasses. Silicon dioxide is used as raw material to produce elemental silicon and silicon carbide. Photovoltaic cells for direct conversion of solar energy use thin cut slices of simple silicon crystals of electronic grade. Silicon chips are used in integrated circuits. Metallurgic silicon with 98-99% purity is used as raw material in the manufacture of organosilicic and silicon resins, seals and oils. It is a refractory material used in making enamels and pottery.Įlemental raw silicon and its intermetallic compounds are used as alloy integrals to provide more resistance to the aluminium, magnesium, copper and other metals. Silicon is also an important constituent of some steels and a major ingredient in bricks. Silicon is the principal component of glass, cement, ceramics, most semiconductor devices, and silicones, the latter a plastic substance often confused with silicon. It forms various series of hydrides, various halides (many of which contain silicon-silicon bounds) and many series of compounds which contain oxygen, which can have ionic or covalent properties. According to this metallic character, it forms tetrapositive ions and various covalent compounds it appears as a negative ion only in a few silicides and as a positive constituent of oxyacids or complex anions. It’s almost as electropositive as tin and much more positive than germanium or lead. Silicon is similar to metals in its chemical behaviour. Silicon is an intrinsic semiconductor in it’s purest form, although the intensity of its semiconduction is highly increased by introducing small quantities of impurities. Elemental silicon has the physical properties of metalloids, similar to the ones or germanium, situated under it in the group IV of the periodic table. Apart from those stable natural isotopes, various radiactive artificial isotopes are known. ![]() Natural silicon contains 92.2% of the isotope 28, 4.7% of silicon 29 and 3.1% of silicon 30.
